The Hicksville Exempted Village Schools Board of Education met in special session
on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Media Center. The meeting was opened by President, Minda Jones, with the following Board members answering
roll call: Jennifer Caryer, Craig Eiden, Minda Jones, Stephanie Mazur, and
Jared Wonderly.
EMPLOYMENT/CERTIFIED STAFF
Jennifer Caryer moved and Jared Wonderly seconded the motion to approve the following as stated.
- Recommend to approve the following as summer ELL tutors at a rate of $27.55 per hour, for a combined maximum total of forty (40) hours.
- Recommend issuing a one (1) year contract to Carrie Bussing as Classroom Instructor with a Master’s Degree and ten (10) years
- Recommend issuing a one (1) year contract to Amanda Willitzer as Classroom Instructor with a BA-150 Degree and three (3) years
- Recommend to approve Fanning Howey to design and provide related construction administration services for the academic/athletic complex project.

DISCUSSION
- A discussion was held regarding architect firms. The Boardscored two architect firms for the building project, using a rubric recommended by the school district’s attorney.

Craig Eiden moved and Jennifer Caryer seconded the motion to approve the following as stated.
Roll call: Ayes – Jennifer Caryer, Craig Eiden, and Minda Jones.
Nays - Stephanie Mazur and Jared Wonderly.
ADJOURNMENT
Craig Eiden moved and Jared Wonderly seconded the motion to adjourn this meeting until the next regular board meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the Community Room.
